We were delighted to welcome ex Bradon Forest student, Lewis Palmer, and his colleague, Tom Page, from Bath Rugby into school today. Lewis and Tom came to deliver a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Most Able initiative being run with Dyson and Bath Rugby Club aimed at encouraging girls to consider careers in STEM industries. In the engineering workshop the  students from Year 8 took apart a turbine head, examining each part and how they worked together before reassembling it. During the rugby element of the morning students practiced a range of tag rugby skills.

Bradon Forest PE teacher, Mrs Evans, who organised the event said, ‘This is an excellent opportunity for our students. There is such a wide range of careers available in STEM. I hope this event will encourage the girls to investigate these opportunities in more depth.’

Lewis and Tom will be returning to school for the next two weeks to further develop the girls’ tag rugby skills.
