Mr Morris along with staff from Learning Support took ten Year 7’s to Abbey Home Farm from the 9 May to the 13 May. The Year 7’s spent the week living and working on the farm. Some of the activities they got to enjoy were feeding the pigs, collecting the eggs, fire lighting, sowed seeds, picked the crops, horse grooming, splitting firewood and visiting the cows. The students also had to cook all of their own meals, which included porridge, scrambled eggs, flat breads, vegetable and lentil soup, pizza, chilli and lots of very nice flapjacks. The students also got to play the staff at rounders and wheel barrow racing. The students won the rounders, but the staff won wheel barrow racing so we declared it a draw!

A great time was had by all of the students and staff. We can’t wait to go again next year!
