Miss Fennell, who runs our LGBTQ+ Club, said: “Some of our students approached me to say that they wanted an event that didn’t have to be political, but was more of a recognition of the community. A friendly, inclusive event where students could join in, say hi and feel welcome.

Lots of students got involved in making decorations, running stalls, handing out stickers and creating a festival vibe for our picnic. It was wonderful to see so many students and staff joining in and we’d love to make this an annual event.

We ran assemblies this week celebrating pride in all and how everyone has something to be proud of. We hope that events such as this will strengthen the inclusive community feeling at our school and look forward to more in the future!”
