Yesterday was our first in school BMX session! A Year 8 group was followed by a Year 9 one, all students of varying ability and experience. After a short introduction and guide to bike checks, both groups had the chance to get used to the bikes before taking part in some fun races.
Over the rest of the term, the students will learn a variety of ‘flatland’ BMX skills, building confidence and team work.
The course is run by British Cycling Level 2 BMX and MTB coach, Jennifer Purcell, who commented: “What a fantastic morning! Thanks to all the riders for giving everything a go, I’m looking forward to watching them progress over the next few weeks.”
