Our Year 7 BMX groups enjoyed a great session this week, working as a team to create their own obstacle course for timed runs. All the students have been great fun and really engaged with the sport, showing an eagerness to progress and improve.
Congratulations to Samuel J (Year 8), Zack A (Year 7) and Lexi B (Year 7) who were the top 3 fastest timed runs for sports day – the first time BMX has been included – the three received their medals this week.
Coach, Jennifer Purcell, said: “Thanks again for this opportunity, I’m loving every minute of working with these ace young riders and seeing them progress. For those students keen to try BMX over the summer, please check out the wonderful pump track in Wroughton, and also the new one next to Rivermead skatepark.
I also have two race BMX bikes available for those Bradon Forest students I’ve worked with to borrow if they would like to try racing. Bristol BMX Club have a summer and winter series at Patchway race track and these are the perfect way to dip your toe in to the competitive side of the sport. Please contact me via the school to apply for the loan.”
