Mrs Sirrelle reports: “I wanted to share a sneak preview of the incredible work that our students have been putting in to the Carnegie Shadow Jury and Spark Book Awards over the past few months. Not only have they been busy reading and critiquing illustrations, they’ve been working hard to produce their responses to the shortlisted books. We have just shy of 50 independent book reviews and 20 pieces of original artwork, including sketches, poetry, painting and multimedia craft work!
The display picture doesn’t really do it justice, so our staff and students are encouraged to come and see all of their wonderful work on display. Several pieces of work have been entered into competitions and all of it will be featured in our very own BFS Umbra shadowing group magazine, which will be distributed around school soon.”
