Bradon Remembers

Over the past two weeks Bradon Forest students have taken part in a number of Remembrance activities to show our thanks in a very Bradon way.

Miss Mazelin delivered a thought provoking assembly to all years on the first week back, making us think about team work and helping others as well as the sacrifices made by service men and women.

We all took the opportunity during the two minutes silence on Monday 11 November to say thank you.

Our thanks to Miss Cole and the Humanities team who brought a soldier silhouette from the Royal British Legion – he is positioned in a central place on the school campus to remind pupils throughout the year. In addition to this pupils were invited to create a war memorial or picture to show their vision of Remembrance. The creativity, imagination, respect and empathy our pupils have shown whilst doing this has been very humbling for the History department. Thank you all that took part.

Finally, all tutor groups were invited to design a bridge of Peace. This reinforces the message from the assemblies about team work and the peace we now enjoy thanks to the selfless actions of those who fought. The different designs and ideas show what a diverse and fabulous place Bradon Forest really is. Special mention needs to go to 9P2 and Mrs Cousins whose bridge from war to peace is spectacular and very thought provoking. Fantastic effort!

Thank you to all that took part in any Remembrance activities.
