Mrs Sirrelle reports: ‘Bradon Forest Library was excited to welcome back celebrated writer Francesca Tyer this week. The author of The Elemental Prophesy book series ran workshops with students in Year 8 and Year 10 to build their creative writing skills and get their imaginations working overtime! Activities included ‘finding’ hidden stories one sentence at a time, creating a plot line from three separate and very random ideas (a character, a setting and an event) and using different techniques to build tension in a story. Students were inspired to write some excellent work, featuring a fantastic range of vocabulary, and their feedback was overwhelmingly positive about their experience. Thank you to Francesca for providing such a wonderful opportunity for our students.”
