The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award has a positive impact on young people’s lives, in terms of their personal development and employability, and on wider society, from charities gaining active and engaged volunteers to businesses hiring work-ready recruits.
It gives young people the chance to do something completely new and improve on things they are already doing. It takes them out of their comfort zone and into a place where they will have to push themselves and have amazing new experiences. They will build confidence, resilience, skills for work and new friendship groups. And they will have a brilliant time doing it!
Other participants of the DofE say it helped them stand out from the crowd when applying for college, university or jobs.
