With very limited opportunities for students to be able to gain valuable work experience in the current climate a number of organisations are now offering virtual work experience. Opportunities we have shared with our students already include VWEx in the music and arts industries, construction, tourism, broadcasting and financial services. Also big household names like Tesco and Spotify. Great Western Hospital have hosted several ‘ask a question’ sessions and Norland Nannies have offered free courses to students too.

Airbus’ ‘Aerospace Virtual Work Experience’

Airbus’ Aerospace Virtual Work Experience is for Year 10 – 13 students. It involves around 10 hours of activities that students can complete at a time that suits them – meaning they don’t have to take time away from school. The free virtual work experience lasts for one week and would involve students (virtually) meeting a variety of team members working in areas anywhere from space to civil aviation. They will learn about sustainability and manufacturing and complete work and assignments to get an understanding of what life at Airbus is like. Students will receive a certificate directly from Airbus themselves, which is something they can use in both their CVs and personal statements.

This is a great opportunity for students and places are limited, so if they are interested they need to apply via the link as soon as possible!
