With very limited opportunities for students to be able to gain valuable work experience in the current climate a number of organisations are now offering virtual work experience. Opportunities we have shared with our students already include VWEx (virtual work experience) in the music and arts industries, construction, tourism, broadcasting, aviation and financial services. Also big household names like Tesco and Spotify. Great Western Hospital have hosted several ‘ask a question’ sessions and Norland Nannies have offered free courses to students too.
Details of current opportunities we are aware of:
Speakers for Schools has a lot of different VWEx opportunities. Sign up with them here to get notifications of VWEx opportunities as soon as they become available. Speakers for Schools is an organisation helping to level the playing field for young people of all backgrounds.
Siemens is a digital pioneer focusing on the areas of electrification and automation. They have a 10 hour virtual work experience opportunity for students in Year 10 and Year 11. Closing date for application is 20 October 2021. Click here to find out more.
