Mrs Sirrelle reports: “After another successful March Month of Reading Madness last term, we are excited to announce the fabulous efforts of our World Book Day competition winners! Congratulations to Max and Alex who won our Big Book Quiz with joint highest scores, and to Eva and Ayla who impressed the judges with their creative bookmark designs. Finally, congratulations to Tabitha who earned the highest score on our school-wide Doorway to Reading scarecrow trail. All of our winners received a £5 voucher to spend in our Scholastic Book Fair. A huge well done to everyone who took part!
The Library is also thrilled to announce the top three finishers of our brand new Bookworms and Boosters reading challenge for students in Year 7 and 8. A massive congratulations goes out to Esmee (1st place), Emily (2nd place) and Elle (3rd place). Our winners received book vouchers for £15, £10 and £5 respectively and were excited to get spending straight away! Although the top three spots have been claimed, we are still encouraging players to complete their own games – house points will be awarded to all students who finish the board and spot prizes are still available to every player for the duration of the game. Great job to everyone involved!
Finally, we are celebrating the enormous success of this year’s Scholastic Book Fair! We want to thank all of the students, their families and the school staff who supported our final March Month of Madness event.. With your help, we raised a staggering £476.22 towards buying new books for our library. Some brand new books are already making their way onto our shelves, and our team of dedicated student librarians have been busy researching even more fantastic titles to invest in. Thank you again for making this such an incredible opportunity to improve our library resources.”
