Last Friday we had the pleasure of hosting our annual Grandparent’s Coffee Morning for Year 7. This is a lovely opportunity for family members to visit the school, with Year 7 students sharing their first term’s achievements with over 115 Grandparents! After joining the end of term Celebration Assembly, our guests were shown round the school by their grandchildren before being brought back to the main hall to share tea, cake and conversation.

“I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed Friday morning and to thank you and your staff for providing such an opportunity.  I was impressed at the assembly presentations by the generosity of all the children in their congratulation of the winners. My grandson was so pleased to see me there and I loved being shown around and filled in with details of his school life, he was very good at it! It was all very impressive, how lucky those children are to have such facilities. And then coffee, cake and conversation with other grandparents! It takes a village to raise a child and it is so good to know that our grandson’s school is welcoming to and appreciative of the extended family. Thank you so much!”

“This morning we attended the Grandparents Coffee Morning. We will be grateful if you can pass our ‘Thank You’ on to all those who arranged and took part in this really lovely event. It was great to have the opportunity to experience the things that our grand-daughter tells us about. We also found the genuine feeling of wellbeing for the youngsters in your care to be very reassuring.”

Thank you to Mrs Rainbow and Mrs Lanphier for organising and to Mrs Elias for donating some of the plants that were given away as keepsakes.
