On Wednesday 17 December, members of the Staff Band came together to entertain students during the lunch break. Led by our esteemed Music teachers, Mr Koniarski (keys and vocals) and Mr Hancock (lead guitar), the ensemble of teaching and support staff jingled and jangled along to Christmas Is All Around, We Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday and Santa’s Back in Town. The hall was packed as students and staff seemed to enjoy it as much as the performers!
The Student Band opened and closed the Christmas Jam with a great rendition of The Ramones’ “Blitzkrieg Bop” – performed by Boe K on guitar, Ruby T on Bass and Easton M on drums.
A huge thank you to Mr Koniarski and Mr Hancock for organising, and for Mrs Burgham (History and vocals), Mr Hutchings (Science and drums), Mrs Chappell (Science and guitar), Mr Duncan (Maths and bass), Mr Ivanov (Trainee Teacher and sax) and Mrs Purcell (Support and drums) for getting involved!
