This year the World Championship Freestyle Kayaking was held for the first, and maybe only time, in Holmes Pierre Point, Nottingham at the end of June. Year 8 student, Colm O’C was initially going as a spectator to see participants and teams from around the world. However he was approached to do the Younguns programme where he was offered one to one training with World and European champions.

This was an amazing opportunity and only offered to a few young kayakers that are showing progressive skills! Colm has since been accepted into a coaching programme where he attends sessions twice a month alongside the GB Junior team.
