On Tuesday 10 October Bloodhound Education visited us to give a full presentation to the whole of Year 7. This 20-minute assembly focused on engineering, specifically the land speed record and Hi powered rocket cars. Workshops were then delivered to classes throughout the day where students used their scientific knowledge and engineering skills to build strong and fast prototype rocket cars that can run at speeds of up to 50 mph, whilst learning how to work together effectively and developing skills useful for the workplace. This hands-on workshop builds students’ confidence in their science and engineering abilities and brings the curriculum to life in an engaging and exciting way.

Mr Sturla commented: “Thank you so much to Bloodhound Education for such an engaging day! A huge thanks also to the The Rotary Club of Royal Wootton Bassett & District for funding this excellent educational opportunity. It’s been such an enjoyable experience and has been great to see students working together and challenging themselves!”
